Getting Back On Track

I saw this meme a few days ago and I need to post it everywhere for myself. I get stuck in AuDHD paralysis and want to accomplish something, but stall out thinking about the steps, and how it needs to look when complete, and that often prevents me from doing the thing. So I’m getting back to blogging and even if it’s a bit of a rough start, I’m doing it.

The last few months have been a ride. The highlight was officiating our comrades/dear friends wedding at the end of August. The challenges have been two surgeries in September and October for carpal tunnel release. My hands are still healing and will be for up to a year, but thankfully they are no longer numb most of the time! I’m able to type again in limited bursts, so I’m easing back into blogging and working on my novel.

I’ve been battling my seasonal affective disorder doomspiraling; there are good days and bad. The imminent threat of WW3 (which has already begun) and its potential to go nuclear have not aided me in clawing out of the doom pit. Neither has the lack of awareness or care regarding those on the part of most Americans.

But I’m still here.

I’ve had to accept that some of the people who I care about deeply are going to refuse to acknowledge material reality, in favor of the propaganda being hawked by the US Empire and its owners, the oligarchs, aka the capitalist ruling class. It sucks, but I guess their fears rule them and they prefer to hear lies that reinforce their feelings of exceptionalism and security.

Regardless of whether they listen, I know that others are, because strangers read what I write, and let me know that it’s been helpful to them. And even if nobody listens, I need to write these things for myself, my own sanity, my own place in history.

I’m working on a lot of ideas creatively; please wish me luck in making progress on at least some of those.
